Daytona 200

The Daytona 200 is a more than 68 rounds lasting and 322 -km bike race. It is held annually at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

History

The race has evolved from a 3.2 -mile beach race ( Daytona Beach Road Course ) in 1937 to a 2- mile race at the Daytona International Speedway in 1961.

Due to the growing interest for speed and the conversion of the NASCAR route after the 2004 season, the Daytona organizers took two changes for the 2005 race. First, the race of the series premier AMA Superbike was ( 322 km ) reduced from 200 miles to 62 miles (100 km ) and introduced a race of Formula Xtreme series. In addition, the route was changed.
