De La Rue (crater)

135.22

De La Rue is a great level rampart on the northeastern edge of the moon 's front panel. It lies north of the large crater Endymion and immediately south of the smaller but more prominent crater Thales and Strabo. The wall is almost completely leveled and partially covered by newer craters.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British astronomer Warren de la Rue. He appears on the maps of Johann Friedrich Julius Schmidt under the name Epicurius.
