De libero arbitrio (Augustine)

De libero arbitrio (lat. About the free will ) is a signature of a Christian bishop Augustine of Hippo, which comprises three volumes, the 387-9 in Rome (Vol. 1 ) and about 391-395 in Africa ( Vol 2 - 3) were written. Theme is the human free will.

Augustine began the work as part of an anti - Manichaean series of writings, arguing at the same time partially against skepticism. In the first volume, the author challenges the determinism by making the quest for an answer to the question whether freedom exists even rises to the argument, and as a condition of knowledge. In parts of the second and in the third volume, the author worked out the reasons for the existence of God.
