De - loused in the Comatorium is the debut album of the American band The Mars Volta. The concept album is released in 2003, both commercially and in the opinion of many music critics, the biggest success of the band and is a milestone of modern progressive rock music.
Background
The album tells the story of the fictional character in a novel Cerpin Taxt, inspired by Julio Venegas, a friend of the band. This was after a failed suicide attempt by an overdose of morphine in a week-long coma. After he awoke, he was disfigured and half side paralyzed, so he finally jumped from a railway bridge in the heavy traffic and so put an end to his life.
At The Drive-In, the predecessor band The Mars Volta, played a tour as the opening act of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom she so well understood that its members Flea and John Frusciante grossed the album. The German music magazine Visions chose De - loused in the Comatorium first with 10/03/12 points for Album of the Month July 2003. Later, the CD was named by both the readers and the authors of the magazine as Album of the Year. In the 2005 statistics published 150 plates for eternity the album was ranked 30th
