Dean Benjamin McLaughlin

Dean Benjamin McLaughlin ( born October 25, 1901 in Brooklyn, New York, † December 8, 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan ) was an American astronomer.

McLaughlin was a professor of astronomy at the University of Michigan. In 1954, he put forward the theory that there is on Mars volcanoes whose eruptions were responsible for the craters. A Martian craters and a crater on the moon named after him.

McLaughlin is the father of science fiction author Dean Benjamin McLaughlin, Jr.
