Death from Above 1979

Death from Above 1979 is a Canadian indie rock band from Toronto, consisting of Jesse F. Keeler ( bass guitar, synthesizers ) and Sebastien Grainger (vocals, drums). Their music is characterized by the use of few instruments and effects. 2006, the band was officially dissolved on February 4, 2011, they announced their reunion known.

History

At first they called themselves nor simply Death from Above, but after a dispute with the eponymous dance radio label from New York City in 1979 (year of birth Grainger ) was added. Widely used is the rumor that the two musicians had met in prison, and then decided to live together in a funeral home. In truth, Keeler and Grainger met at a Sonic Youth concert. The Death from Above 1979 project was finally launched in 2000. The 6- song EP Heads Up! followed in 2002.
