Death from Above 1979

Death from Above 1979 is a Canadian indie rock band from Toronto, consisting of Jesse F. Keeler ( bass guitar, synthesizers ) and Sebastien Grainger (vocals, drums). History

At first they called themselves nor simply Death from Above, but after a dispute with the eponymous dance radio label from New York City in 1979 (year of birth Grainger ) was added. Widely used is the rumor that the two musicians had met in prison, and then decided to live together in a funeral home. In truth, Keeler and Grainger met at a Sonic Youth concert. The Death from Above 1979 project was finally launched in 2000. The 6- song EP Heads Up! followed in 2002.
