ProcessNet

ProcessNet is a platform for chemical engineering, Chemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Here scientific issues are discussed as well as new technical applications by experts from academia, research and industry and further developed.

The initiative was founded in 2007 by DECHEMA and VDI Society for Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering ( VDI - GVC ). Carriers are DECHEMA and the Association of German Engineers. The technical work is carried out in specialized communities. Here are all the activities of the committees, specialist sections and working groups of both institutions brought together to solve problems at the interfaces of different disciplines.

Eight Sections have been established:

  • Chemical Reaction Engineering
  • Fluid Dynamics and Separation
  • Particle Technology and Product Design
  • Process, apparatus and plant engineering
  • Safety Technology
  • Materials, design, life
  • Education and Innovation

The two holding companies are contributing additional skills. In the DECHEMA there are in addition to the organizational infrastructure and its strength in research funding the comprehensive biotechnology activities, the VDI, it is primarily the 17 VDI companies in other industries at home and are important partners for chemistry. Participation in ProcessNet open to all members of DECHEMA and VDI - GVC.

In the Sections of ProcessNet the bodies of DECHEMA and the specialized committees of the VDI - GVC are integrated.

German Catalysis Society

The German Catalysis Society ( German Catalysis Society GeCatS ) is the central representation of the German Catalysis company and an information platform for catalysis research and applications. The activities of holding companies DECHEMA, VDI - GVC and the German Chemical Society, DBG and the German Scientific Society for Petroleum and Coal ( DGMK ) in the field of catalysis were merged with it. The company covers the entire spectrum of the surface catalysis to biocatalysis and covers all steps of development from basic research to process development. Membership in the German Catalysis Society is open to any member of the five member companies make no additional contribution. The Company currently comprises over 1,000 members. The company has started work on September 8, 2008 and also leads the activities of the Competence Network Catalysis ConNeCat on.

Achema and AchemAsia

The International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering, Environmental Protection and Biotechnology Achema will take place in Frankfurt every three years. Over 4,000 exhibitors and 180,000 visitors lists this international event for equipment suppliers to the chemical industry and sectors of the process industry. The topics covered range from the chemical plant and apparatus and process automation via micro process engineering, laboratory and analytical technology and catalysis and surface processes, membrane processes and security technology to water technology, nanotechnology and renewable energy sources. Until 2009, it was in the ACHEMA special show a field of innovation within the Achema range of topics is regularly highlighted; emphases are particularly illuminated since 2009, spanning several exhibition groups in the rule. The Congress with over 900 lectures deals with topics of chemical engineering and biotechnology that are or pick up practical questions on the verge of putting it into practice. Exhibition and Congress engage thematically closely together. In order to take into account the fast pace and the strong growth of markets outside Europe, particularly in Asia, will host the DECHEMA in Beijing / PR China since 1989, organized also every three years AchemAsia, which has become the leading event for the process industry in Southeast Asia.

Research Funding

To promote research in the fields of chemical engineering, biotechnology and environmental technology, the DECHEMA uses both own and external funding. The association promotes projects of industrial research ( funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics of the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF ) ), manages volunteer the Max Buchner Research Foundation, can be requested through the scholarships and grants awards that excellence in research and study be appreciated. It analyzes current developments and makes this attention with studies and position papers; coordinating networks and large projects ( research and project coordination). Important basis for all these activities, the working committees and working groups represents the DECHEMA working closely with national agencies (DFG, BMBF, the Volkswagen Foundation, DBU, Agency for Renewable Resources ( FNR) ) and the European Commission.

Prices

Placing among others, the DECHEMA Medal, the DECHEMA Prize, the Alwin Mittasch price, the Willy Hager Medal (water treatment, waste water chemistry), the Hellmuth Fischer Medal for Electrochemistry / Corrosion Research, the Emil Kirschbaum Medal for thermal process Engineering and the Otto -Roelen medal for catalysis research.

Foundation DECHEMA Research Institute ( DFI)

The Foundation DECHEMA Research Institute was founded by a group of industrial and private benefactors, on 1 March 2012. In it, the existing since 1961 Karl Winnacker Institute of the DECHEMA went on.
