Dedovsk

Dedovsk (Russian Дедовск ) is a town with 29 108 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located 38 km north-west of Moscow and about 20 km each from the cities of Krasnogorsk and Istra.

History

The first documented mention of the village dates from the 1570s Dedowo. 1901 led first by a railway line at the site, namely the line Moscow - Rzhev, which was later extended to Riga. This led ten years later to set up a first industrial company in Dedowo in 1913 went into operation in textile manufacturing. In addition, in the vicinity was a brickyard. Over the years, emerged in Dedowo and the neighboring villages a workers' settlement, which was officially declared in 1940 to the city Dedovsk.

Economy and infrastructure
