Delaware Route 6

Delaware Route 6 or shortly DE 6 is a 27.89 km long state highway in Kent County, Delaware. It runs from the Maryland State Route 291 at the border of Maryland west of the Delaware Bay Blackiston in Woodland Beach. The route passes through the towns of Smyrna and Clayton.

Route description

Delaware Route 6 runs from the State Border with Maryland on the Millington Road eastward through the Blackiston Wildlife Area. In Blackiston the road crosses the western terminus of the Delaware State Route 42, which leads southeast to Kenton. State Route 6 continues eastwards and meets approximately two kilometers west of Clayton with the Delaware State Route 15 both roads overlap to the western edge of the city where State Route 15 turns to the north.

EN 6 continues east on Main Street by Clayton and Smyrna Clayton Boulevard as by Smyrna. Shortly after reaching this city bends State Route 6, a left onto Delaware State Route 300, Glenwood Avenue. Both State Routes overlap to U.S. Highway 13 to the north of Smyrna, where DE and DE 300 ends to the right onto Highway 13 turns into the south. On this four-lane dual carriageway, the two highways overlap until the Commerce Street, where the State Route begins its eastward again. It crosses the toll Delaware State Route 1 and leaves Smyrna.

Outside the city, Route 6 to Woodland Beach Road. The road passes through the sparsely populated countryside, crossing the Delaware State Route 9 before it reaches the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area the endpoint at the Delaware Bay in the small town of Woodland Beach.
