Democratic Labor Party (historical)

The Democratic Labor Party ( German: Democratic Labor Party ) was a Socialist Party of Australia, which was created in 1954.

The Democratic Labor Party was an anti-communist faction of the Australian Labor Party; first ( to 1957 ) called the group the Australian Labor Party (Anti - Communist ). It was founded by members of the Labour Party who thought the mother party and trade unions have been infiltrated by Communists.

Political positions

The Democratic Labor Party referred to the ideas of BA "Bob" Santa Maria and was closely associated with the Catholic Church; in contrast to the Australian Labor Party, the Democratic Labor Party was rather classify center-right and worked in the 1970s with the right-wing parties ( Liberal Party, Country Party ) together to support the Whitlam government, regardless of its own formal social democratic orientation.
