Democratic Party (Cyprus)

The Dimokratiko comma (Greek Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα, DIKO, Democratic Party ) is a centrist party in the Republic of Cyprus. The headquarters of the party in Nicosia. 1976 DIKO was founded by Spyros Kyprianou. DIKO is the third largest party in the House of Representatives and has since the elections of 22 May 2011 on 9 of a total of 56 seats in Parliament. Since 2006, Marios Karoyian is party chairman. In the European Parliament DIKO was up to the European elections in 2009 a member of the liberal ALDE group, but thereafter the Socialist Group S & D joined them.
