Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan

The Kurdistan List (Kurdish Listi Kurdistan ) is an alliance of parties in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which took in the parliamentary elections in March 2010. The Kurdistan List is the successor of the Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan, which took in the elections on 30 January and on 15 December 2005.

Composition

The list is composed of the following parties:

  • Kurdish Communist Party
  • Islamic Movement in Kurdistan
  • Kurdistan Workers' Party
  • Turcoman Democratic Movement
  • Social Democratic Party of Kurdistan

The Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan was in the elections on January 30, with 25.7 % of the vote the second strongest and got 71 of the 275 seats in the new Iraqi parliament. It formed with the winners of the election, the predominantly Shiite United Iraqi Alliance, a coalition government and is in the 32- member cabinet of the new Iraqi government ministers 8.

The Islamic Union of Kurdistan ( Muslim Brotherhood of related party ) has separated itself from the Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan before the Iraqi election. For the Islamic community joined in Kurdistan. The alliance was now only eight parties. The Alliance received in the elections 21.7 % of the vote and got so 53 of 275 seats.

Elections on March 7, 2010

Prior to the elections, the agen led by Mustafa Nawschirwan movement of change ( Rewtî Gorran ) of the Kurdistan list split off and went to as an independent alliance in the elections. The Islamic Union of Kurdistan and the Islamic Community in Kurdistan did not join the list. In the elections were obtained 14.59 % of the vote and 43 seats made ​​in the Baghdad parliament.
