Dengkou County

The circle Dengkou (磴口县; Pinyin: Dèngkǒu Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture-level city Bayan Nur in the west of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China. It has an area of 4167 km ² and has a population of 120,000. Its main town is the large village Bayangol (巴彦 高 勒 镇).

The site of the former army headquarters Shuofang ( Shuofang jun Gucheng朔方 郡 故城) from the time of the Han Dynasty is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-35 ) since 2006.
