Denis Côté

Denis Côté ( born November 16, 1973 in Perth -Andover, Nouveau - Brunswick, Canada ) is a Canadian filmmaker.

Life

Denis Côté was born in 1973 in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. After working in the underground music scene and completed his film studies at the Collège Ahuntsic Montréal, he founded in 1993 the company Nihil Productions. Here he made ​​several low-budget productions. Since 1997, his short films can be seen at various international festivals. In 2005 he won the Golden Leopard (video) at the International Film Festival of Locarno. Also at the International Film Festival in Locarno, he won Elle veut le chaos the Leopard for Best Director in 2008. Côté has also worked as a presenter and critic for the independent radio station CIBL -FM and eventually directed the film department of the weekly Ici Montréal (1999-2005 ). Since 2001 he has been Vice - President of the Quebec association of film critics ( AQCC ).
