Denise Voïta

Denise Voïta ( born March 14, 1928 in Marsens, † April 11, 2008 in Lausanne) was a Swiss painter and graphic artist.

Life

Denise Voïta, whose mother came from Geneva and their father from Ukraine, worked after attending the Ecole Cantonal de dessin et d'arts appliqués ( School of Applied Arts ) in Lausanne as an artist. Initially she worked with wallpaper, mosaic, silk screen or wall painting. She was especially known for her carpet - work and after several scholarships from 1966, as a lithographer.

The central motif of their abstract and symbolic works were angels, as well as clouds, waves and flames. Voïta has received several awards, among them they won the 2002 the 100,000 Swiss francs Grand Prix des Beaux -Arts in 2002 in the canton of Vaud.
