Deportes Quindío

Corporación de Deportes Quindio, Deportes Quindio short called, is a Colombian football club was established in 1951 from Armenia in the province of Quindio.

History

Highlight of the club's history was winning Colombian Championship in 1956. Deportes Quindio took in two seasons at the Copa Conmebol in part. While there in 1999 came from in the first round of the club in 1998 reached the quarter-finals of the competition. 2000 Deportes Quindio rose from the second division, but could ascend directly again in 2001.

2004 ended the 101- times capped player Leonel Álvarez his career with Deportes.

2013, the club was relegated for the second time from the first division of the 2014 season and plays in the Categoría Primera B.

Stadium

Deportes Quindio completed its home games at the Estadio Centenario de Armenia. The stadium was inaugurated in 1988 and has a capacity of 29,000 seats. It was also one of the venues at the Copa América 2001.
