Deposition (phase transition)

As resublimation various operations are called:

  • In thermodynamics, the immediate override of a substance from the gaseous to the solid state ( phase transition),
  • A method of cleaning material and the material separation, in which a sublimation process is carried out repeatedly in succession.

In this article, the phase transition is described, which is also known as Resublimation, anti-sublimation, deposition or solidification.

At the pressure and temperature conditions in which a desublimation occurs, no liquid state of aggregation, such as in the phase diagram, there can be seen on the right. We call these conditions, regardless of the direction of the phase transition as sublimation printing and sublimation, or as sublimation. This in turn is part of the sublimation of the phase diagram, which is in the example, the phase boundary between solid and liquid below the triple point.

Each substance is at its Resublimation free the so-called sublimation, which is equal to the sum of fusion and heat of vaporization.

This process can be observed, for example in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator. The water present as water vapor in the air is in contact with the cold walls immediately fixed without having previously trained liquid water. The result is an icy cooling compartment has to be defrosted from time to time.

Other examples are the formation of frost patterns and the emergence of rime and polar snow.

The phase transition in the opposite direction is called sublimation.
