Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf

Desert Strike is an action flight simulation, that was developed and released in 1993 by Electronic Arts. She appeared for the systems Amiga, PC, Mega Drive, Master System, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear and Lynx. The success of the game led to several sequels on different systems by themselves.

Gameplay

The player controls a helicopter and must meet against the backdrop of a fictional post- Gulf War scenario different missions, including combat missions against stationary facilities, enemy air and ground forces, as well as evacuation operations. The gameplay is here presented in an isometric view. A tactical strike gets the game in that you have to refuel the helicopter during the missions and new arm. The supply is limited and spread over the game area, which the player must plan his approach carefully. Decreases during a mission, the armor of the helicopter through enemy fire to zero or is he prematurely run out of gas, the helicopter crashes and the mission is failed. The Strike series

Included in Nuclear Strike was a video that announced a sequel called Future Strike and showed a similar mech - use device. The game was never published under that title. Manufacturer Electronic Arts decided to extract the product from the Strike product line, to free the developer from the requirements of the series context. It was only announced under the new title LAPD in 2100, redesigned and finally in August 1998 as Future Cop: LAPD released for the PlayStation, Windows and Mac OS.
