Despise the Sun is a mini - album of the New York death metal band Suffocation.

Genesis

After the band had already disbanded after the album's release Pierced from Within 1995, they tried a fresh start with this album in 1998. The band formed their own label, Vulture Records, on which, however, otherwise no other publications have been made ​​for this release. The album was re-released in 2000 on Relapse Records and first introduced to a wide audience. The band broke up, however, after the release of the mini album. Only in 2003, the band founded new.

Music style

The music is not as technical as on the previous album. Increasingly also flow grindcore influences into the music. The individual songs are shorter than older material. The song comes from Catatonia debut album Human Waste and was re-recorded.
