Scott Burns (record producer)

Scott Burns was in the 1980s and 1990s very active music producer in the Death Metal genre. He worked at Morrisound Studios in Temple Terrace, Florida. In 2005, he finished his career as a music producer to work as a programmer.

Career

Scott Burns began his career as a live mixer for bands like Obituary and Massacre. In 1987 he got a job as a sound engineer at Morrisound Recording Studios. His first works were the Ticket To Mayhem by Whiplash and the album Leprosy of Death. After Burns had worked for Sepultura album Schizophrenia as an engineer, he was their album Beneath the Remains ( 1989) produce. This was his first work as a music producer. Quite soon he acquired through his work for Death, Obituary, Atheist, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide a high status in the Death Metal scene. In addition to local bands from Florida and the English Napalm Death took her Death Metal album Harmony Corruption on him. He also produced the debut album of the German band Atrocity. Its quite unusual productions for atheist and the Testimony of the Ancients album of Pestilence were known.

Although he was mostly preoccupied with the death metal sound, and even Bon Jovi dismissed for lack of time, he worked in between for other bands like Savatage and Annihilator. In the 1990s, the criticism grew at very similar sound of death metal productions. Scott Burns was also the scene getting tired and retired in 1998 from active producing back.

His last work was a friendly service for Obituary, with whom he recorded the reunion album Frozen in Time ( 2005). Since then he has concentrated on his new career as a programmer.

In the 90 years served a crossed Photo by Scott Burns as the logo for the Anti- Mosh campaign of Mayhem founder Øystein " Euronymous " Aarseth. The accompanying slogan was " no fun, no core, no mosh, no trends" and was on all nine publications of Aarseth's record label Death Like Silence Productions (DSP ) to find. With " Anti- Mosh ", the young emerging black metal movement was distinguished from the much of Burns ' production influenced their opinion, more and more commercial expectant Death Metal.
