Human is the fourth studio album by the American death metal band Death. It was published in 1991.

Genesis

The tour to the previous album Spiritual Healing became a fiasco. Chuck Schuldiner refused to play the European Tour. The rest of the band is traveling alone to Europe and took the tour without a band head Schuldiner through. The vocals took Louie Carrisalez, the former drummer of Devastation. The guitar was played by Walt Thrashler. After the band came back from the tour, Chuck Schuldiner threw all the musicians from the band. Drummer Bill Andrews and bassist Terry Butler returned to Massacre. James Murphy first rose at an Obituary.

Schuldiner got Steve DiGiorgio ( Sadus including among active ) and Sean Reinert of Cynic and Paul Masvidal ( Cynic also, inter alia, also at master active ) in the band einzuspielen to the technically demanding songs. The album is considered a milestone of the death metal genre.

For the song "Lack of Comprehension " a video clip was recorded.

Music style

Human shows a clear evolution of Schuldiner. The brutal passages of earlier albums are still available, but alternate with jazzy parts from. Sean Reinert and Paul Masvidal played in their main band Cynic a similar style. Also the lyrics of Death move away from the earlier horror theme and later social critique, challenging way, profound lyrics.
