Whiplash (Band)

Whiplash is a company incorporated in 1984 Thrash Metal band from Passaic, New Jersey.

History

The band was originally founded by the " three Tonys ": Tony Portaro (vocals, guitar), Tony Scaglione (drums) and Tony Bono ( bass). In the years 1984 and 1985, three demos were released. 1985 also her debut album titled Power And Pain via Roadrunner Records has been published.

Joe Cangelosi replaced Tony Scaglione in 1986 when he left the band to replace for a tour with Slayer Dave Lombardo.

Joe Cangelosi has a year later (1987 ) with the two Tonys album Ticket to Mayhem added. In 1989 Glenn Hansen as a new singer to do so. The four of them recorded the album Insult to Injury (1989).

After this album, Whiplash dissolved surprising to unite again in 1996. With new euphoria they produced the studio albums Cult of One ( 1996) and Sit Stand Kneel Prey (1997).

1998, married the former " three Tonys " for one last album, which should still appear in the same year and hot Thrashback. In the same year however, they have disbanded for the second time.

2002 bassist Tony Bono died of a heart attack. He was 38 years old.

In 2008, the band has re-established for the second time. About one year later, on 5 August 2009 they released their seventh studio album titled " Unborn Again" on the label Pulverised Records. The cover artwork was done by Ed Repka. Harris Johns was responsible for the album producer.
