Deux-Sèvres

The Deux- Sèvres [ døsɛ vʀ ː ] ( German: Two Sèvres ) is a French department of atomic number 79 It is in the west of the country in the Poitou-Charentes region and is named after the two rivers Sevre Niortaise and Sevre Nantaise named.

Geography

The Deux-Sevres is bordered to the north by the department of Maine -et -Loire, on the east by the department of Vienne, in the south of the department of Charente and Charente -Maritime, and to the west by the department of Vendée.

The main rivers in the northern part of the department are the Sevre Nantaise and the Thouet, both left tributaries of the Loire, or northeasterly leaving the department in a northwesterly direction. The southern part of the department drained the Sevre Niortaise to the west.
