Diablo Grande AVA
Diablo Grande AVA ( recognized since 22 June 1998) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of Stanislaus County, northeast of the city of Patterson. The wine region of Salado Creek AVA further includes at south.
General
The entire 12,141 -acre site is part of the Diablo Grande Resort Community, a ranch with attached golf club. Within the area there are currently only a winery, the Isom Ranch Winery. The vineyards of the protected designation of origin lie at an altitude of 300 to 550 m above sea level. NN. The height favors slightly higher rainfall and lower temperatures than is possible in the nearby area. This allows a wide range of early and late maturing varieties are grown.
Named is the wine-growing region after Mount Diablo, the highest point in the region.
