Diana Eccles, Viscountess Eccles

Diana Catherine Eccles, Baroness Eccles of Moulton DL ( born October 4, 1933) is a British businesswoman and politician.

Career

The daughter of Raymond and Margaret Sturge acquired in 1978 at the Open University with a Bachelor of Arts. She worked from 1955 to 1958 when Middlesbrough Community Council and was from 1963 to 1977 a partner in a graphic design office. From 1974 to 1985 she worked for the power company North Eastern Electricity Board, was from 1981 to 1984 Deputy Chairman of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. Diana Eccles worked from 1982 to 1984 in the Department of Energy and over the next few years in various other government agencies and companies. From 1986 to 1994 she was director of Tyne Tees Television. Since 1998 she is the director of Times Newspapers Holdings Ltd.. , Further of Opera North and since 2003 by London Clinic.

Eccles was 1982-1989 trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation and from 1989 to 1998, the British Heart Foundation. She was also a trustee of the York Minster Trust Fund. On 10 May 1990, she was raised as Baroness Eccles of Moulton for Life Peer and moved into the House of Lords. In 1995 she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Durham.

Personal

Since 1955 she is married to John Eccles, 2nd Viscount Eccles. They have three daughters and a son. You and your spouse are one of the few couples who both have a title in its own right.
