Diana Vishneva

Diana Vishneva Viktorovna (Russian Диана Викторовна Вишнёва, usually transcribed Diana Vishneva, born July 13, 1976 in Leningrad) is a Russian ballet dancer. It applies in addition to Sylvie Guillem and Svetlana Zakharova as one of the most famous and highest paid dancers of today.

Vishneva received her dance training at the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg and was taught there, among others, Lyudmila Kowaljowa. During her studies she danced the role of Kitri in the ballet Don Quixote in the Mariinsky Theatre. After graduating in 1995, she was transferred to the Kirov Ballet, where she was appointed a year later to the first soloist.

In 2005, Vishneva next to her contract with the Kirov Ballet, a further point as the first principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre on.

Wischnjowas repertoire includes the great classics of ballet history as well as modern, partly choreographed especially for her works. She graduated in addition to their performances at the Kirov Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre numerous guest appearances at the ballet companies of Munich ( Bavarian State Ballet Munich), Moscow ( Bolshoi Ballet ) and Paris ( Ballet de l' Opéra de Paris). At the Berlin State Ballet, she has been a guest soloist, usually as the partner of Vladimir Malakhov.

In 2010 she founded the " Diana Vishneva Foundation ", a charitable organization that has set in Russia, the USA and Japan, among others, the goal of making ballet all social classes accessible, to promote this form of art and young and dancers retired to help.
