Dick Kinney

Timothy Richard "Dick" Kinney (* December 15 1916 in Utah; † March 24, 1985 in Glendale ( California)) was an author of Disney cartoons and comics and the inventor of the figure Dussel Duck.

Dick Kinney began his professional life, inspired by his older brother, Jack Kinney (1909-1992), who was from 1931 to 1958 animator, screenwriter and director at Disney as an animator for Walter Lantz. Beginning of the 1940s, he moved to Disney, where he was employed as a Storyman for animated films. He was involved in the formation of about 40 short animated films, especially in numerous Goofy movies. His involvement in at least four films with Donald Duck in the lead role is occupied.

After Disney had stopped production of short films, Kinney went back to Walter Lantz and also worked for UPA, Hanna -Barbera and Terry Toons later. In order to remain connected to the Disney characters, he began writing lyrics to comics that were initially intended for the foreign market, which is why he is known in Europe as a comic book writer today than in the U.S.. Nevertheless, numerous comic books, in which, together with the artist Al Hubbard Fethry Duck ( Duck Dussel ) invented the goofy cousin of Donald originated 1963-1970.
