The mysterious Villa is the 1913 rotated first detective film of the German film series " Stuart Webbs ".

Action

A young woman is kidnapped by a group of gangsters who poses as a secret society and calls himself "The Black Triangle". Stuart Webb is tasked to free the kidnapped again. The trail of the kidnapper leads him to a house, the eponymous, mysterious villa, which is equipped with plenty of hidden traps such as trap doors and pitfalls. After numerous incidents, however, Stuart Webbs can overwhelm the criminals and bring the girl to safety.

Production Notes

The first Stuart Webb's film was shot at the end of 1913 in the Continental Berlin film studio in Chausseestraße 123 The same company was also responsible for the production. The mysterious Villa has a length of four acts to 1322 meters, which corresponds to a playing time of about 72 minutes. After passing the film censorship January 26, 1914, the first performance took place on 13 March 1914 in the Berlin Chamber of playing in the Tauentzienstraße instead. The Munich police, however, took him to a youth ban (No. 13604, 13605, 13606, 13607 ), the kingdom of film censorship again on July 1, 1921 ( No 2677 ).
