Julius Falkenstein

Julius Falkenstein ( born February 25, 1879 in Berlin, † December 9, 1933 in Berlin) was a German actor.

Life

Falkenstein probably got 1904/ 05 his first engagement in Berlin. He played in the following years, mostly on the Berlin stage, interrupted only by commitments from 1908 to 1910 on Lustspielhaus Dusseldorf, 1911 at Vienna's citizens theater and 1912 at the Theater an der Wien. Falkenstein, who was particularly noted for his comedic qualities, often went on tour and worked several times even as a game master.

From 1914 he has also been used in the film. His roles were usually small, but thanks to his trademark bald head and monocle very memorable. He played aristocrats, military personnel, directors, as well as secretaries and accountants, sometimes in up to 20 productions per year. He also found time for theater operations, most recently at the Komische Oper and at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm. He also wrote himself a comedy called Julie, which was performed with success.

The coming to power of the Nazis ended abruptly in 1933, the career of the force as a Jew Julius Falkenstein. Although he was given a special permit, but was only used one time in the movie. He died of meningitis. His grave is located in the Jewish Cemetery in Berlin -Weissensee.
