Die Hesselbachs

The Hesselbachs were a Hessian radio and television family, produced by Hessischer Rundfunk. Developed the " Hesselbachs " from a cabaret show for the radio by the author and star of Wolf Schmidt ( Charles Hessel Bach, also known as " Papa " known). The greatest popular success had it the three seasons of the television series, which are with their enormous audience, to a peak of 93 %, as a real street sweeper.

The radio drama series

On September 17, 1949, the Hessischer Rundfunk radiated from the first of 77 radio plays about the Hesselbach family. The individual episodes lasted 23-68 minutes. The radio plays have been preserved in the archives of the Hessischer Rundfunk in large part, however, they were repeated relatively rare. Total to 1956 three seasons were produced under the following headings:

  • Family Hessel Bach ( Director: Karl Heinz Schilling )
  • Authorized officer retired Hesselbach, Office of Counseling ( Director: Otto Stadler )
  • Hesselbach GmbH (directed by Karl Heinz Schilling )

There were also two single records with short radio plays the Hesselbach family. Meanwhile, the radio plays have appeared in part to purchase CDs. In the first episode yet Anny Hannewald the "Mom" and Lia Woehr said the daughter Anneliese. From the second episode took Woehr the part of the mother, Sofie Engelke played the role of Anneliese and Joost Siedhoff spoke the son Willy, as well as later in the TV series. In November 1961, the record company Polydor released two records under the title The Adventures of Mr. Hessel Bach. The first plate contained the episodes The first boy and the rolls, the second plate the consequences of Business in Paris and promise of marriage. Besides Wolf Schmidt Liesel Christ and Gudrun Gewecke are heard (the famous " Erna " from the tube ends Hirsch).

: Four Hesselbach feature films parallel to the radio plays rotated - In the years 1954 to 1956 were the lowest budget - and to some extent using the private assets of Wolf Schmidt

In the movies Else Knott played the mom Hesselbach. Were produced films by Lia Woehr. The second movie will be aired after restoration regularly in Hesse television. The third film has not yet been restored. 4 of 5 rolls of film of the first film and all rolls of film of the fourth film are still considered missing.

The TV series

1960-1961 showed the ARD television series entitled The company Hesselbach, which simultaneously was the title of the first season. From the end of 1961 went under the title The Hesselbach family the second season on the air; the last season was aired from 1966 to 1967 under the title Mr. Hessel Bach and ....
