Diergaarde Blijdorp

The Tiergarten Blijdorp (Dutch Diergaarde Blijdorp ) Zoo and Botanical Garden of the Dutch city of Rotterdam. Carrier is a foundation, the Stichting Koninklijke Rotterdamse Diergaarde.

The 25 -acre park was founded in 1857 and houses about 5800 animals in 600 species. The park is a GeoZoo which is divided into six thematic areas of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America and Oceanium. Since February 2008 he is registered as Rijksmonument and listed building.

Events

On the first weekend in May 2007 was seen in a cage next to the lion's den on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the zoo a couple people. On the information panel, the nature and the distribution area was described zoogemäß.
