Digby Jones, Baron Jones of Birmingham

Digby Marritt Jones, Baron Jones of Birmingham, of Alvechurch and of Bromsgrove in the County of Worcestershire Kt ( born October 28, 1955 in Birmingham ) is a British lawyer, business manager and Labour Party politician, who since 2007 as a life peer member of the House of Lords.

Life

Solicitor and Manager

After schooling Jones absovlierte to study law at University College London ( UCL) and entered 1978 as an employee in the law firm Edge & Ellison Solicitors and was there in 1980 until Assistant Solicitor, before 1981, he was an associate partner. In 1980 he became a member of the Law Society. Since 1984 he has been a partner of the firm since 1987 and Head of Corporate Affairs. In addition, in 1990 he was deputy senior partner and was between 1995 and 1998 Senior Partner at Edge & Ellison Solicitors.

Subsequently, Jones was from 1998 to 1999 and Vice - Chairman for Corporate Finance at KPMG and between 2000 and 2006 General of the Employers' Association Confederation of British Industry (CBI ).
