Dildar

Dildar real name Yonis Reuf ( born February 20, 1918 in Koye, † October 12, 1948 in Arbil ) was a Kurdish poet. He was born in the town in the province of Arbil Koye. He finished his school in Kirkuk and studied law in Baghdad. There he joined the first legal Kurdish organization at Hiwa (Eng. hope ). He then worked for some time as a lawyer.

His poems have been published in well-known Kurdish magazines Rûnakî and Gelawêj. As his greatest work is considered the Kurdish national anthem Ey Reqîb, which he wrote during his imprisonment in Iran in 1938.

At age 30, he died of a heart attack.
