Dimas Lara Barbosa

Dimas Lara Barbosa ( born April 1, 1956 in Boa Esperança ) is Archbishop of Campo Grande.

Life

The Bishop of São José dos Campos, Eusébio Oscar Scheid SCJ, ordained him a priest on December 3, 1988. Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 11 June 2003 in São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro and Titular Bishop of Megalopolis in Proconsulari.

The Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro and Professor of Byzantine believers in Brazil, Eusébio Oscar Scheid SCJ, donated him on 2 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were José Nelson West Rupp SCJ, Bishop of São José dos Campos, and Raymundo Damasceno Assis, Auxiliary Bishop in Brasília.

As a motto he chose Servire IN Laetitia. On 4 May 2011 he was appointed Archbishop of Campo Grande and introduced into the office on 10 July of the same year.
