Dimitar Telkiyski

Dimitar Telkijski (also written Telkiyski Bulgarian Димитър Телкийски; born May 5, 1977 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian footballer who currently plays for Lokomotiv Sofia in the Bulgarian A Grupa. His position is midfield. His nickname is Mecho (Bulgarian: Мечо, dt Bear).

Career

Telkijski began his career in 1990 at Botev Plovdiv in his home town of Plovdiv and played there until 1999. From 1996 to 1999, he completed 62 games in the first team of Botev. In 1999 he joined then the first time to Levski Sofia and remained there until 2008. For Sofia, he completed 198 A Grupa games, scoring 56 goals. His greatest success here was the participation in the UEFA Champions League 2006/ 07, where Levski reached the group stage. He was also five times Bulgarian champions and also five times the Bulgarian Cup winner. In 2008, he was transferred for a season to Hapoel Tel Aviv to Israel, where he was elected by the fans player of the year 2008. In 2009 he then moved on for half a year to Amkar Perm in Russia. After only four games without scoring, he joined then in 2009 returned to Levski Sofia.

During the winter break of the 2011/12 season Telkijski joined the Bulgarian first division club FC Chernomorets Burgas and after the end of the season for Lokomotiv Sofia.

National

Dimitar Telkijski plays since 2005 also for the Bulgarian national football team. Previously, he completed 22 games and hit it three times the gate.
