Bushy Kapringelblume ( Dimorphotheca sinuata )

The Bushy Kapringelblume ( Dimorphotheca sinuata ) is a plant of the genus Kapringelblumen ( Dimorphoteca ) in the sunflower family ( Asteraceae).

Features

Dimorphotheca sinuata is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches stature heights of 10 to 30 centimeters. Stems and leaves are almost bare. The aromatic leaves are verkehrteilanzettlich, rough, serrated cambered, 7 to 10 centimeters long and 2-3 centimeters wide.

The bloom conditions open in full sun, have a diameter of 3 to 4 centimeters and contain tongue (ray flowers) and tubular flowers ( disc florets ). The radial symmetry tubular flowers are purplish brown. The zygomorphic ray florets are yellow, orange, salmon pink or white, the reason is partly dyed deep purple.

The flowering period extends from July to September, some of them also begins in June.

Occurrence

Culture

The Bushy Kapringelblume is used as an ornamental plant in summer discounts, perennial beds and rock gardens as well as a container plant and cut flower. It prefers a sunny garden, sandy location that is not damp.

It is mostly cultivated not the type itself but hybrids with the rain notifier Kapringelblume ( Dimorphoteca pluvialis ), so-called Aurantiaca hybrids. These have flower heads with a diameter of up to 12 inches and 15 to 50 inches high.
