Diocese of Gothenburg

The Diocese of Gothenburg ( Gothenburg Swedish pin ) is one of the thirteen dioceses within the Church of Sweden. The diocese consists of 240 parishes ( församlingar ), which in turn are grouped into 16 church districts.

Geographically extends the diocese since 1693 over parts of Bohuslän, Västergötland and Halland. Bishop's seat is Gothenburg with the Göteborg Cathedral as Bishop Church. Bishop of the diocese since 2011 by Eckerdal.
