Dionysis Savvopoulos

Dionysis Savvopoulos (Greek Διονύσης Σαββόπουλος, born December 2, 1944 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek composer, musician and singer.

Savvopoulos is known for connecting different musical styles. On the one hand it combines with western rebetiko song forms, on the other hand, Greek ( Macedonian ) folk music with elements of American musicians such as Bob Dylan and Frank Zappa. Because of its distinctive voice, he was compared to Bob Dylan. But he also writes music for TV, film and theater. Most of his songs he writes himself, both texts and music.
