Dirtsman

Dirtsman (* 1966 in Spanish Town as Patrick Thompson, † December 21, 1993 ) was a Jamaican dancehall musician.

Life and career

Dirtsman was the brother of dancehall artist Papa San, her father was the owner of the Black Universal Sound System. Dirtsman started his career at the Father's sound system and later moved to the Creation Rocktower system from Willow Dene. He took since the mid- 1980s, plates, his first hit was 1990 Thank You, followed by Borrow Man and produced by Philip Smart in New York Single Hot This Year. Dirtsman stood at the beginning of an international career, he had just signed a record deal with BMG when he was on 21 December 1993 attacked and shot at the age of 27 years on the porch of his house by four armed men.
