Dishwalla

Dishwalla is an alternative rock group from Santa Barbara, California. The band's name comes from the Indian name for a person who illegally uses satellite signals, and then more widely.

History

Dishwalla was founded in 1994 with JR Richards, Rodney Browning, George Pendergast and Scot Alexander. Their first single, Counting Blue Cars was released in 1996 and quickly rose in the charts. Thus they quickly reached a high level of awareness and their album Pet Your Friends has sold over one million copies.

The high expectations could not hold the next album And You Think You Know What Life's About and became the flop. The blame was partly supplied also pushed the then record label and after the departure of drummer George Pendergast moved to Dishwalla Label Immergent.

Dishwalla, the fifth album, was released under a new record label. The band named the album after themselves because they regarded it as a new beginning. 2006 JR Richards announced in an interview that the band takes a break.

On May 26, 2009 they had JR Richards solo album "A Beautiful End".
