Dmitry Pirog

Dmitry Pirog Jurjewitsch (Russian: Дмитрий Юрьевич Пирог; born 27 June 1980 Temryuk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia ) is a Russian professional boxer.

Boxing career

Dmitry Pirog denied about 230 amateur fights and won several Russian Championships, before he started his career as a professional in 2005 and so far won all of his 20 fights, including 13 title fights.

World Champion

On 31 July 2010 he won the world title of the WBO middleweight technical knockout in the 5th round of the hitherto undefeated American Daniel Jacobs. Jacobs led to precipitation with 39 to 37 votes on the labels of the judges, but went 57 seconds after the start of the 5th round with a straight right to the ground, was one and only began at 5 again to rise slowly, after referee Robert Byrd the fight broke off and Pirog said the winner.
