Dnipropetrovsk Metro

The Metro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukrainian Дніпропетровський метрополітен, Metropolitan Dnipropetrowskyj; Russian Днепропетровский метрополитен, Dnjepropetrowskij metropolitans ) was opened in 1995. This Dnipropetrovsk one of the youngest metro cities in Europe. In 2012, 8.1 million passengers were transported.

History

On 29 December 1995, the Metro was opened between Komunariwska ( Комунарівська ) and Vokzalna ( Вокзальна ) with six stations. This was the third Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk metro, to Kiev and Kharkiv. The stations all look very similar, only the ceiling panel is different. All stations are except Komunariwska ( Soviet-style ) at depths of 40 to 60 meters. Trains run from 5:30 bis 23:30 clock in a 7 - to 17 -minute intervals, with a future 5 -minute intervals is provided. Future prospects

The Zentralna station is already to be conceived as a transfer station for the construction, as is planned in the medium to long term, to build another line which will open up the other side of the Dnipro. This should allow the existing route crossing the mentioned station. In a very distant future it can be expected that form the lines of the Metro Dnipropetrovsk, as well as other former Soviet metro systems, a secant.

The metro should be extended to the European Football Championship in 2012 by the Japanese construction company Sumitomo Shoji. < But that was not done.
