Dobo Forest Park

The Dobo Forest Park is a forest in the West African nation of Gambia.

Topography

The approximately 1.9 km wide and 2.9 km long, rectangular area located in the North Bank region in the Central District Baddibu. On the North Bank Road, The Gambia 's second most important trunk road, it is located on the stretch between the towns Kerewan and Farafenni, while the 732 -acre area is located approximately 16 kilometers east of Kerewan and about 40 kilometers west of Farafenni. From the town of Salikenne the Dobo Forest Park is about seven kilometers north in a straight line. The Dobo Forest Park is separated by the North Bank Road, north of the road are 704 acres, another 28 acres south.

Flora and Fauna

The forest area, which consists mainly of low trees, is for the most part on the Northern side of the road.

Many birds live in this area, such as the Senegal Sandgrouse ( Pterocles quadricinctus ), the rare Smaragdspint (Merops orientalis), bush sparrow ( Petronia dentata ), Weißbürzelgirlitz ( Serinus leucopygius ) and the Helmeted Guineafowl ( Numida meleagris ).
