Döbrönte

Döbrönte ( German outdated: Dewrenten ) is a municipality in Central Transdanubia, about ten kilometers southeast of Papa at the northern edge of the Bakony. The site is dominated by the ruins Szarvaskő.

History

Were first documented village and castle in the 14th century. During the Ottoman- Habsburg struggle for Hungary ( 16-17. Century), the castle was destroyed and abandoned the place. Since 1760 Döbrönte so-called Danube Swabians were recruited by German settlers rebuilt. By Charles Moreau and Joseph Kornhäusel was 1815, the neo-classical parish church. With the expulsion of most of the German inhabitants and the influx of Hungary took place after the Second World War, a population exchange. Since the 1960s, a sustainable tourism has developed in Döbrönte.
