The Döllnitz Bahn GmbH ( DBG ) is a railway infrastructure company and a rail transport company based in Mügeln, Saxony. The Company is the operator of the narrow gauge railway Oschatz-Mügeln-Kemmlitz/Glossen in Central Saxony.

History

In the 17 December 1993, the newly founded Döllnitz Bahn GmbH took over the leftover from Mügelner network route between Oschatz, Mügeln and Kemmlitz. The main objective of the company was the first receipt of the remaining freight from china clay pit in Kemmlitz. For cars with narrow gauge freight cars were of the Mansfeld mining railway procured and in Oschatz created a new Umladeanlage to standard gauge. With used diesel locomotives of type FAUR L30H managed to get the freight for the time being. Nevertheless, the transport decreased gradually, so that the freight in 2001 but then had to be stopped. Thus the Döllnitz train was the last narrow gauge railway with public transport in Saxony.

Today only operate student trains and steam hauled special trains on the route of the railway Döllnitz. The Döllnitz Bahn GmbH is a partner of the steam railway route Saxony. The end of 2010, she was awarded for the realignment and consolidation of the company to the Claus Köpcke price. Meanwhile, the continued existence was endangered because in February 2011 on the Association for the transport Leipzig, given shortened allocations through the Free State of Saxony decided to stop funding the railway traffic school year end on 8 July 2011.

On June 15 of 2011, however a spokesman of the Saxon Ministry of Transport ( SMWA ) that the financing of the railway operation is secured to the end of 2012. For permanent backup operation, the shareholders' meeting of Döllnitz train took on November 16, 2012, decision, the management by service contract to the Saxon- Oberlausitzer Railway Company ( SOEG ) transfer, their CEO Ingo Neidhardt took over this same person from the beginning of 2013. End of December 2012 could be closed a traffic contract between the Döllnitz Bahn GmbH and the purpose association Döllnitz train, ensuring financing for the years 2013 and 2014, with half of the funds coming from the Saxon Ministry of Transport. For the subsequent years 2015-2020 these funds are already provided for in the approved on December 18, 2012 public transport financing regulation of the Free State of Saxony.

The rehabilitation of infrastructure is secured since November 22, 2013, when the railway Döllnitz received a funding decision of the SMWA. In a total of four phases, the section Mügeln - glosses and then to 2016Vorlage should initially to 2014: Future / In 2 years, the section Oschatz Mügeln be repaired. The investment costs amount to a total of around 2.6 million euros, with the promotion of the Free State of Saxony 75 percent.
