Life

Bedos de Celles, Dom François Lamathe ( also briefly Dom Bedos called ), attended the School of Oratory in Pezenas and entered 1725 as a novice in the Benedictine priory La Daurade ( Maurists Congregation ) in Toulouse one. There he was given the additional name "Dom " and Chapter 1745 was secretary of the Abbey of Sainte -Croix in Bordeaux. On behalf of the Paris Academy of Sciences, corresponding member whose he was, wrote Dom Bedos 1766-1778 the fundamental work " L'Art du facteur d' orgues " ( The Art of the organ builder ) with excellent drawings and detailed descriptions in detail. He wrote many organ appraisals, including an audit report on the new organ in the Basilica of Saint -Martin in Tours.
