Domingo Quiñones

Domingo Quiñones ( born August 9, 1963 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey ) is a salsa musician, producer and actor of Puerto Rico.

Career

Domingo Quiñones was born in New Jersey and moved with his family in 1967 back to Ceiba, Puerto Rico. 1977 Domingo Quiñones returned to the U.S. after New York City and played back in the group Conjunto Nativo. Other engagements were bands like Rafael de Jesús & Orquesta with José Alberto " El Canario ", and the Conjunto Clásico with Johnny Rodriguez. 1985 Domingo Quiñones replaced Roberto Lugo in the group of Luis " Perico " Ortiz and recorded four albums, including " La vida en broma " (1985), " In Tradition" (1986) and " Perico " (1987) on. He then sang for a time with Louie Ramirez and Roberto for Roena. In 1990 the record label RMM and the release of the album " Domingo es mi nombre " his solo career. After he brought out his 100tes album with Tito Puente, his second album Pintando Luna appeared in 1992, which includes a duet with Tony Vega in the song " Dos Amigos " and a salsa version of the song "Crazy for You" and showed his great versatility. In 1996 he reached the number one Latin Tropical Airplay charts with the " Tú Como Estas " from the album "Mi Meta". The National Foundation for Popular Culture of Puerto Rico recorded the album " Se necesita un milagro " with song titles like "Mi Negrita Me Espera " in 1997 as one of the most influential pieces of salsa. The song "No Voy a Dejarte Voy " came in second place of the Latin Tropical Airplay charts. 1998 Domingo Quiñones played in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, along with Olga Tañón, Michael Stuart and Tito Auger of the group Fiel à la Vega. In the play, ¿ Quien Mato a Héctor Lavoe? He played the role of the singer Héctor Lavoe and sang " La Voz de Siempre ". From the New York Times he received good reviews. Her own compositions he worked in Poeta y Guerrero. In the film Héroes de Otra Patria about the Vietnam War and the commitment of Puerto Rican soldiers, he played the role of Sergeant Miller. At the Festival de Cine de chilenisdchen Viña del Mar, he won a prize in 1999, the film was the official contribution of Puerto Rico in the Foreign Language Film category.
