Marc Anthony
Marc Anthony ( born September 16, 1968 in New York City; Marco Antonio Muñiz actually ) is a Puerto Rican - American composer, singer and actor.
Life
Marc Anthony was born to Puerto Rican parents in Spanish Harlem and grew up with seven siblings. Its name comes from his mother's fondness for the Mexican singer Marco Antonio Muñiz, but just happen to carry the same last name. To avoid confusion, he slept with the pseudonym " Marc Anthony". At seven, he is said to have next to the school already attended a music academy in East Harlem, with twelve years he sang in the background choir of the "Latin Rascals " with and then later at the teen boy band " Menudo ". He then joined as a rock singer on in various music clubs. In addition, he played with in films, such as El Sustituto, Big Night, and Hackers, and also appeared in the Broadway production of The Capeman (Paul Simon ) on.
On 10 May 2000 Anthony married the Puerto Rican "Miss Universe" Dayanara Torres in Las Vegas, with whom he has two children. On 5 June 2004, the marriage was, however, divorced and he married just five days later, the singer and actress Jennifer Lopez in Los Angeles. On February 22, 2008, Anthony and Lopez parents of twins, a girl and a boy. In July 2011, the couple separated. On April 12, 2012 it was announced that Marc Anthony has filed for divorce in LA.
In 2009, Anthony bought into the football team the Miami Dolphins.
Music
Marc Anthony's career as an English rhythm and blues and rock singer was initially met with only moderate success. He was invited by the percussionist Tito Puente in 1992 to open with him a festival in his honor at Madison Square Garden. In the same year he took on the highly publicized duet Vivir lo nuestro with La India. From then on he increasingly devoted himself to the salsa music. The big break came but not until 1999, when he corriente for his album Contra la the Grammy was awarded " Best Tropical Latin Performance." With his single I Need to Know, which was produced from marketing to technical reasons in an English and a Spanish version, he landed in 2000 a double whammy: for the English version, he received a Grammy nomination, while the Spanish version Dímelo awarded the Latino Grammy been.
Critics Marc Anthony is accused of his songs too commercialized and the actual Latin American elements had been lost in his music. Nevertheless, Marc Anthony is currently the most successful Salsa musicians ever. This is partly because he not only sings his plays, but also composes and writes lyrics for the most part self. He has learned from his father, who was a guitarist himself composing. Marc Anthony's soulful, sometimes sad songs make him a representative of the so-called "Salsa Romantica ".
