Don't Touch the Light

Do not Touch the Light is the first studio album by the German hard rock band Bonfire after their name change from Cacumen. It was released in 1986 on RCA Records.

History

On Do not Touch the Light is heard even drummer Dominik Hülshorst, which had just been brought from the band DARXON and was released in the recordings of the next album Fireworks. The album was co-produced by Dave Hutchins and the band. The songs were mostly of Jörg Deisinger - also new to the band -, Claus Lessmann and Hans Ziller wrote. For the first time there was a worldwide release.

Unhappy love songs make up the majority of the songs: You Make Me Feel, Longing for You and No More. Hot to Rock transfigured the weekend open-air LA and the California city of Los Angeles. Starin 'Eyes has the imperfection of humanity to content. SDI scratching at the then- controversial topic of the U.S. missile defense system. These Ziller: "Sure, politically interested should already be every citizen, because things like SDI eventually go to all. When it eventually breaks sometimes, everyone is affected, even the headbanger in the front row, so you should at least give some thought to the current day politics. " Title song Do not Touch the Light is about a police state whose citizens are so scared that they avoid any room lighting.

Reinhard Harms attested the album "in Metal Hammer liquid melodic lines without the music ever aggressive ', being but criticized " lengthy phases "with" identical chord intervals ". He forgave 4 of 7 possible points. Of the other critics, it received mostly 2 points and thus finished only 15th place among the 20 discussed new releases. Ziller appeared annoyed and said two issues later, there was for him only "a criterion " for " a really good song", namely a hook that you keep in mind and could nachpfeifen.
