Don Haskins

Donald Lee " Don " Haskins ( born March 14, 1930 in Enid, Oklahoma; † 7 September 2008) was the coach of the basketball team of the Texas Western College in the NCAA.

Life

He won with the first team, in the only black player played, the NCAA Tournament in 1966 against coached by Adolph Rupp University of Kentucky with a 72:65 victory in the National Championship Game. The game went down in history as an essential part of the civil rights movement in the United States.

Don Haskins was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997.

His career as a basketball coach was to win, which is called in the original Glory Road, filmed in the film game.
